Midweek Motivation
Tip 1: Wim Hof Breathing Method
The Wim Hof Breathing Method is a breathwork technique to improve stress levels, energy, and focus. We practice it twice a week after our morning walk. You can find the technique on YouTube. There are beginner and advanced versions.
To go deeper, Wim Hof has a book: ‘The Wim Hof Method’ which goes into more detail on his entire method, including cold exposure, mindset, exercise, and breathwork.
Note: This method should be avoided if you are pregnant or have certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, respiratory problems, or heart disease.
Tip 2: Subtle Sound Bathing Improvements
To improve your sound bathing experience focus on enhancing your environment. Consider the following.
Go out in nature: Try sound bathing in nature for a soothing experience that helps you unwind and reconnect. Take your yoga mat, and headphones and find a quiet spot.
Lighting: Soft, dim lighting can help create a calming atmosphere. Consider using candles, fairy lights, or a small lamp to provide a gentle glow. Use an eye mask to help you focus more on the auditory experience and deepen your relaxation.
Aromatherapy: Incorporating scents that promote relaxation, such as lavender or chamomile, can enhance the sensory experience. Use diffusers, incense, or scented candles.
Something Interesting
This week we’ve been reading ‘The Mind Illuminated’ by Culadasa (John Yates). We have the Kindle version.
It’s captured our attention as it’s a science-based approach to Buddhist meditation and mindfulness that offers clear, practical steps for all levels of meditators to enhance their practice and cultivate mindfulness.
Thanks for reading!
With gratitude,
MindfulMornings
