2 Quotes
"Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, leave the rest to God." - Ronald Reagan
"The source of healthy boundaries is self-love and self-respect. When you learn to love yourself, you are less likely to put up with people who don't love you back." - James Clear
2 Tips
1) Change Your Self-Talk, Change Your Day
Here’s why:
The words we use when talking to ourselves shape how we feel and what we believe we can do. Just like a friend's encouraging words can lift us up, our own words can either help us grow or hold us back. Starting your day with positive self-talk is like planting seeds of possibility - it helps good things grow throughout your day.
Here are some simple ways to make your self-talk more encouraging:
Notice Your Words
Pay attention to phrases that might be limiting you
Common examples include: "I can't," "I have to," and, "I'm not good enough"
Stop yourself when you notice you’ve used one of these phrases
Choose Better Options
Here are some helpful swaps to try when you catch yourself:Add "yet" to statements about things you're learning
Instead of: "I'm not good enough"
Try: "I'm not good enough yet"Replace "have to" with "get to"
Instead of: "I have to finish this project"
Try: "I get to finish this project"Switch "should" to "choose to"
Instead of: "I should eat healthier"
Try: "I choose to eat healthier"
Practice Each Morning
Pick one phrase to work on each day
Start your morning by saying the new, positive version out loud
Notice how different it feels to use more encouraging words
Small changes in the words we use can lead to big shifts in how we feel and what we achieve. Like any new habit, this takes practice - be patient with yourself as you learn.
2) Celebrate Your Small Wins Each Day
Why:
By noticing and celebrating small daily wins - like making your bed in the morning or replying to one important email - we build confidence and develop a kinder inner voice. These tiny victories add up, creating more joy in our mornings and days.
Here are some simple ways to start celebrating your small wins:
Start your morning quietly with your coffee or tea. Take three deep breaths - feel your chest rise and fall.
Write down three easy-to-achieve goals for the day. Keep them simple and specific.
After completing each small task, pause for a moment. Notice what you've done. Thank yourself - it's like giving yourself a gentle pat on the back.
Even the smallest steps forward count. Drinking that first glass of water, making your bed, or sending one email are all wins worth celebrating.
Tips for success:
Start small - choose tasks you know you can complete
Be specific - "Reply to Sarah's email" works better than, "Handle all emails"
Pause to appreciate each win, no matter how tiny it seems
Keep a simple list of your daily wins to look back on
