Midweek Motivation

Tip 1: Sprinkle Micro-Meditations Throughout Your Day

Just as we need regular sips of water to stay hydrated, our minds benefit from brief moments of stillness. These mini-meditations act like reset buttons, helping us stay centered amidst life's hustle and bustle.

Identify key transition points in your day, such as:
• Before starting your car
• While waiting for your tea to brew
• Before entering a meeting or yoga class

At these moments, try this simple one-minute practice:
1. Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
2. Silently repeat a calming phrase like "I am present" or "I choose peace."
3. Visualize a serene place, perhaps a favorite spot in nature.

Tip 2: Bask in Sunlight Meditation

Combining a morning or evening meditation with being out in the sun boosts your mood, reduces stress, and helps you feel good.

Find a sunny spot outdoors – your garden, balcony, or a nearby park. Here's a simple routine to try:

  1. Sit comfortably, letting gentle sunlight warm your face and arms.

  2. Close your eyes and focus on your breath for 5-10 minutes.

  3. As you breathe, imagine drawing in the sun's energy and warmth.

Something Interesting

This week we're revisiting a thought-provoking article: Taming the Mammoth: Why You Should Stop Caring What Other People Think by Tim Urban. It's a lighthearted look at a serious topic – our need for social approval.

Thanks for reading!
