Midweek Motivation
Tip 1: Try the Minimalist Game
(Sunday’s tip: Embrace Non-Attachment/Non-Greed (Aparigraha))
Ready for a refreshing challenge? Try the Minimalist Game to declutter your space and mind. Here's how:
Choose a start date
Day 1: Let go of one item you no longer need
Day 2: Remove two items
Continue this pattern for 7 days
By the end of the week, you'll have cleared out 28 items cluttering your space! This practice not only tidies your space but also creates room for what truly matters in your life.
Start small – perhaps with an item of clothing you no longer wear. If you’re unsure if you should get rid of something try asking yourself this slightly quirky question “If this item had poo on it, would I wash it or throw it out?” This test can help you identify if you really care about something. We hope you take on the challenge. You might be surprised at how letting go can be so freeing!
Tip 2: Set Action-Oriented Goals To Build Habits
(Sunday’s tip: Focus on the Journey, Not Just the Destination)
Let's shift our focus from outcomes to daily actions. Instead of saying, "I want to be more flexible," try "I'll practice yoga for 20 minutes every morning."
This approach helps build sustainable habits and brings our focus to the journey, not just the destination.
Review your goals to see which ones are outcome-oriented
To convert them to action-oriented goals, break them down into the smallest possible daily action that is a step towards your goal.
Build on the actions as you practice them each day.
For example, if your goal is to be more flexible the first action-oriented goal might be “I stretch for 5 minutes every morning”.
We recommend using an app like Atoms to help you set and stick to your action-oriented goals and turn them into habits.
Remember, consistency is key. Celebrate each day you show up for yourself!
Something Interesting
This week we’re watching a video by Brené Brown to remind us that gratitude is the key to experiencing more joy in our lives. By regularly acknowledging what we're thankful for, we shift our perspective from scarcity to abundance. You can watch Brené Brown's enlightening video on gratitude here.
Thanks for reading!
With gratitude,
