Midweek Motivation

Tip 1: Practicing Vulnerability in Daily Interactions

Embrace the power of vulnerability by weaving small but meaningful acts into your everyday life.

This can be as simple as complimenting someone, expressing gratitude, or owning up when you've made a mistake. Such actions might seem minor, but they build a habit that lays the foundation for a more open and authentic existence.

To deepen this practice, you might enjoy Brené Brown's TED talk - The Power of Vulnerability

Tip 2: The Art of Mindful Complaining

On Sunday we discussed how to limit complaining, but today we also wanted to recognize that complaining can serve different purposes - sometimes it's to bond, create humor, initiate change, or get something off our chest. The underlying intention of the complaint can be positive.

Next time a complaint arises, pause and reflect on its purpose - use it as an opportunity to practice mindfulness. Take a breath and ask yourself if sharing it can lead to a positive outcome. If yes, direct it to someone who can help instigate change. By being aware of complaints you can reframe them into constructive conversations and transform negativity into a stepping stone for improvement.

Something Interesting

This week, we're reflecting on a quote from Claude Monet. He wrote this in a letter to Gustave Geffroy in 1889.

“I am distressed, almost discouraged, and fatigued to the point of feeling slightly ill. What I am doing is no good, and in spite of your confidence I am very much afraid that my efforts will all lead to nothing.”
Claude Monet

This reminds us that uncertainty is part of every journey, no matter our age or experience. Next time you're feeling unsure, let your doubt be a sign that you're growing and challenging yourself.

With gratitude,
